LINDSAY ELLINGSON may be best known as a Victoria's Secret Angel - having walked in the show every year since 2008 - but this southern Californian girl has been making her mark on the world's catwalks for almost a decade - appearing for some of the industry's most iconic names, including Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel.
In 2004, almost immediately after being spotted while studying for a degree in biology at the University of San Diego, Ellingson travelled to Paris, where she began her career. It was there that she met John Galliano and made her catwalk debut opening his spring/summer 2005 show, before she opened for Christian Dior and Lanvin later that week. Ellingson remained a favourite of Galliano and was chosen to walk in his tenth anniversary couture show for Christian Dior in 2007 alongside some of the world's most famous models - from Gisele Bündchen to Naomi Campbell.
The following year, she secured her first editorial - with Mario Testino for British Vogue - and has since graced Vogue's cover in Mexico, Portugal and Russia. Her editorial popularity is matched by major brands' desire for her, leading to advertising campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana, Coach, DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger and MAC.
Ellingson has recently become the latest Victoria's Secret model to get engaged (following Behati Prinsloo and Hilary Rhoda in late 2013), after her long-term boyfriend Sean Clayton proposed at Thanksgiving. She is said to be planning a South Carolina wedding to be held in June.
